My friend told me that she saw someone wear a dreamcatcher on the back on their pants! (Hi Sammie). What has become of you girls? Last year, it was wearing fake, granny rimmed/hipster glasses and now it's this. Don't get me started on crop tops and body con skirts. Just... just stop. Please.

I overheard these two girls talking by the girls locker room today...

Girl 1: Zomg lawlz so we should totally like drive to like LA Tan or something like that today and like get a solid tan and it'd be just so like crazy cool. so like yeah, whatdya think?
Girl 2: oh em gee girl like yeah that sounds perf. But do you really want to get another tan over the tan you already like have?

Excuse me... Is any of that actually ENGLISH? I lost brain cells listening to them. I'm not even exaggerating that conversation. How embarrassing is that...?! And then these girls add bronzer on top of their tans and then think they look completely natural. Please stop. This is no the Jersey Shore and you do not look like Kim Kardashian.

Dear followers, I don't know what to make of this punk tee by Vivienne Westwood. To like or not to like? It's so hard for me to say I like an article of clothing that I see online because it could look so different in person! I got a dress from ASOS a month ago and it looked GREAT on the model in the picture. When I got it, it was cheap-looking and larger than I thought. The color was off, too. Although, my mom got a dress that looked terrible (in my opinion) online and when she got it, I fell in love with it. Hmm.

For now, I'd say that I strongly dislike it. I'm not even sure why I'm posting a picture of it. I mean, look at it! If someone wore it, no one would know it's by VIVIENNE WESTWOOD. Right? Right?... Oh my gosh I kill myself

It's the weekend before finals and I haven't left my house once. Nope. Not once. I have locked myself in my room to study. I don't think my brain can properly function anymore. My facebook has been deactivated for a week or so now... my connection to society is GONE.
Ok so maybe I have twitter... and tumblr... and this blog... but hey! I'm trying.
Anyone watch the GOLDEN GLOBES last night? I'm really surprised that they had Ricky Gervais host again... like, why? He's not even funny! He just drinks and insults people.
Fashion-wise, it was okay. I wasn't really impressed with anyone. DISAPPOINTMENT.
Although, Sophia Vergara looked quite nice.

My favorite moment was when they were announcing the nominees to the best actress of something or another and they said Tina Fey and then they said Amy Poehler and Tina ~~photo bombed~~

Future Profession: Ski Bum

Happy New Year! It's that GREAT time of the year... JANUARY! *sarcasm* A time where I have to study for finals, take finals, practice for my karate test like crazy, take my karate test and audition for a play... plus much more. How can I possibly do all of this? I can't. But somehow I will do the impossible.

So don't expect much from me, my dearies.

I went to Beaver Creek, Colorado for my winter break (like the past 11 or 12 years) and it was amazing as usual. I met so many people from all over the world. I shredded pretty hard, too. Even though the snow wasn't so great, we found a way to avoid the jagged rocks sticking out of the ground.

See? There's snow. And look at that! A smile on my face, too. I'm no bluffer, mmm.

Every year I go, people tell me that I have a strong Chicagoan accent. I start to hear it, too! It drives me nuts. Then, when I come back home, people tell me that I have a ski-bum accent... whatever that is... (sounding like a dumbass)

I spent my Christmas and New Year in Beaver Creek!

So now I'm back and studying and what not. But, I'm also snuggled up on my couch watching Amélie on Hulu. It's a great film, you should watch it. This is my second time. Last night, I watched "Chicago" on tv. "He had it coming" is stuck in my head.

Hello blog. You seem quite lonely... abandoned... neglected. I'm dearly sorry for my disappearance. Wow. Do you know how long it took me to type "disappearance"? Like, are there two s's or one? One p or two? Ence or ance? See, most people can't spell the word "definitely". Yet, I can spell that word without hesitation. Where am I going with this? Nowhere. That's where. A town called NOWHERESVILLE. You see, this town is not on the map. Not on this planet. It's on another planet. It's the planet my mind drifts off to when I'm in third and fourth period chemistry. My teacher is a wonderful lady and she is quite helpful. But frankly, I don't understand a darn thing. It's all just words, words, words that pass through one ear and out the other. Hmm.. that reminds me.... "Words, words, words" is the 1 act I performed in last year in "All in the Timing". Oh how I miss being in rehearsal... Luckily, I can audition for Directing Projects and the Frosh/Soph play in January.
Do you see what happened there? I sidetracked from apologizing about my d-i-s-a-p-p-e-a-r-a-n-c-e to talking about nonsense. And I still have to study for a math quiz, chemistry something or another, memorize monologues, study the history of something or another and write an essay. It's currently 9:55 p.m.

So I was on tumblr a couple minutes ago and I saw a picture of her (I follow the A+O tumblr blog) and she was wearing one of the sweaters that she made in the photo. It got me really excited because I was wearing that sweater today, too. IT'S LIKE I HAD A CONNECTION WITH STACEY BENDET. Ha not really. It's a really chic and comfy oversized sweater that comes with this sort of shirt/tutu. It's called a Brielle Tutu Sweater!!

I mean seriously... look how cool she is. And look at that iPhone case! Dude! And that hat... and glasses... *twitch*

I had the same conversation today with three different people. It was about how obsessed we were over Free People sweaters. Obsessed. But it's too bad that they are really expensive, you know? If it was a little cheaper, I would buy the store. Yes, the entire store.

For everyone's information, the title of my post is a dubstep song by Deadmau5 (pronounced dead mouse)

I feel like the only person in the world who is excited for Halloween. No one in my city decorated their homes. Just me. No one has talked about or even fathomed about what they are going to be for Halloween. Just me. Some people don't even realize that Halloween is in less than a week! It's too bad that it's on a monday. But, I am celebrating it on saturday. I'm going to a party! Woohoo! I hope it's not going to be lame... I get so excited seeing everyone's costume. And what's even better... it's the only day of the year that you are allowed to take candy from strangers! That's right, kids! Instead of a pervert coming up to you and asking if you want candy, YOU go to THEIR house and ask for candy. Sounds great. But honestly, I love Halloween. It's so fun. Maybe it's because I'm a thespian (theatre geek to the max). I get to dress up in costume and pretend that I am whoever I dressed up as for a day! Who knows... Oh and what sucks is that I am a sophomore. That means no more trick or treating. I got away with it last year. This year... I don't think so. *tears* Maybe I'll try. Ha. Oh and another thing that sucks! I really want to dress up at school on monday, but I don't want to be the only one who dresses up. What if no one dresses up?! Or maybe people will....? HALLOWEEN SHOULDN'T BE STRESSFUL. GOODNESS.

CALLING ALL GIRLS AT MY HIGH SCHOOL. Yes, you! Do you think that wearing leggings with a shirt that barely covers your stomach is cute? hot? so freaking sexy? HAVE YOU LOOKED IN THE MIRROR? You know, that metal amalgam that is glass coated which reflects a clear image? Yeah, that. People don't want to see your butt-crack. No one wants to see the lining of your underwear. No one wants to know that you are wearing a thong because they can't see the lining of your underwear. OK maybe some guys want to know (FREAKING PERVS), but what kind of image are you sending out about yourself? An outfit is not complete when you JUST wear leggings. I mean, you can wear leggings with a giant sweater or with a dress and you have to pull it off just right. Also, if the shirt actually covers your frontal area and butt, then fine! That's great. Rock it. But, you can't wear thin leggings like they are jeans! I must admit, I tried it once and I looked absolutely ridiculous. *GASP* Claudia K made a fashion faux pas?! Yes. Everyone makes them, even Coco Chanel.... Okay maybe not Coco but you know what I mean. But honestly, I see a majority of the girls at my school have this "fashion trend". Don't y'all feel naked?! Oh wait, they practically ARE. Some girls wear their shirts down to the lining of their bra. Or lower. I won't get into that now...

Today I helped teach a karate class that was for kids around 5-6 years old. I don't work well with kids... It.was.terrible. They don't listen!!!!

I also took a PLAN test (sophomore practice testing) and one of the interest questions asked if I liked shelving books. Why yes... that's what I do in my free time.

The video above is a commercial by DOVE showing the evolution/process of creating an advertisement with a model. The model goes from being a pretty and REAL woman, to becoming a fake and distorted picture of a "woman". It's suppose to show what "beautiful" is. I saw this in my health class and I thought it was really eye-opening. So many young girls have this mind-set that they need to look like what they see on t.v. or in magazines, and it's not right because almost all of it is fake. Every girl should think they are beautiful.

oh boy oh boy. Missoni for Target was a HIT. Everything sold out within about 5-10 minutes. A lot of people I know went online and tried to buy clothes or home goods and they couldn't because the whole site was down due to the demand! Cray cray! Well, my mom did an INCREDIBLE job on this special event. She went to Target right when it opened (there was a huge line to get in...) and she ran (no exaggeration) and grabbed everything she found. She told me that there was no time to look at price tags, sizes or to even see WHAT she was grabbing. Why? Because these wild, animal-like women were going insane, trying to rip shirts out of each other's hands. Yes... just like in the movies. A lot of people are selling what they bought on eBay for more money. I also heard that other designers think that this was such a great idea that Missoni had that THEY want to make a line for Target. I'm telling you... if Chanel ever has a line for Target, I will make sure to get something. But anyway, my mom did a great job. Here's what she got!

What's Been Goin' On!?

I got a kitten as one of my birthday presents. His name is Cosmo and he is a Persian. Isn't he adorable? If you didn't already know, I'm obsessed with cats.

My older cat, Bambini, has been a tad jealous of the kitten (both are males). So, he thinks he will get more attention than Cosmo by trying to be cuter than he is. Don't worry, I give both cats equal attention. Bambini is my first baby :-)

I went to the city (Chicago) the other day and I saw this at a store. I almost barfed. But then I thought that it might look good on an actual human being... eh. Maybe not.

At the same store, I saw RUTHIE DAVIS high heels!!! EEP!

A week or so ago, I saw KATY PERRY in concert. It was really awesome because I got tickets to be in the pit. She was about 10 feet away from me! Too cool! All her outfits were adorable. And, her opening act was NATALIE KILLS. I hadn't heard of her, but she sang this funny/catchy song called KILL MY BOYFRIEND. You should look it up. I like it a lot.

So yeah... TODAY is my BIRTHDAY! Yeah! I am SIXTEEN years old. Suhweet sixteen. I'm not into the whole I'M GOING TO HAVE A GIANT PARTY AND INVITE MY WHOLE HIGH SCHOOL type of thing... So instead, my mom took me to Italy and the South of France, I got some jewelry, I saw Katy Perry, I got a kitten and I went to the city today with some of my friends. I think that's all better than having one big party. Oh yeah and... LICENSE

Hi Der. So I'm getting my license in FORTY FIVE DAYS
Exciting, right? I can't believe I'm going to be 16. It's quite strange, actually. I mean, when I was younger, I had always thought that the age 16 was so grown-up and "cool". And now I'm almost there and I really don't feel like how I thought it would feel. I'm not really sure what I am even saying right now. Considering that it is almost midnight right now, that would make sense. I usually go to sleep at 10. And now I just sidetracked from what I was talking about. Okay. Oh right. Sixteen. So, I am one of the oldest kids of my class because I missed the deadline to be in the grade ahead by 6 days. In a way, I enjoy being the oldest out of everyone. But at the same time, it kind of sucks that everyone is younger than me. Like, some people who are juniors right now treat me like I'm so much younger than them, when really, I'm a couple months younger than they are. But I understand.
Sooo yeah! I'm not getting a car until I'm 17. I think that's reasonable. Kids around here expect a car even before they turn 16! I can still borrow my mom's car ;-)
... there's a thunderstorm going on right now and it's making me happy. haha

Heyyy derrr.

Not only am I reading "Romeo and Juliet" in class, but I also have to memorize the scene were Juliet is on the balcony for a monologue workshop coming up. T'IS AGGRAVATING! Thou shalt not doth such a thing...

Why is this relevant to anything? It's not.
See, as I try to memorize the whole, "OH ROMEO, ROMEO, WHEREFORE ART THOU ROMEO? DENY THY FATHER AND REFUSE THY NAME" BLAH BLAH BLAH, I get distracted. I start thinking about something random, I eat, I take pictures of my cat, I cut up my tee-shirt, I start blogging and best of all, I post the pictures of my cat on my blog. Pathetic!

Newspaper Nails

NEWSPAPER NAILS! How cool is this? You can do it super easily.

Here’s how to do it:

You’ll need:

- squares of newspaper a little bigger than your nails (personalize with whatever newspaper content you want ^.^)

-rubbing alcohol in a container that you can put your fingers into

-white nail polish

-clear nail polish (optional)

1) Coat your fingernails with white nail polish. Let them dry entirely before moving on to the next step.

2) Dip one fingernail into the rubbing alcohol for about 30-40 seconds (sometimes, more time is needed)

3) Remove your finger from the alcohol and press down a square of newspaper onto that fingernail. Don’t move it after you’ve put it down! It will smudge. Leave the square on until all the rubbing alcohol on your finger has been used up or you notice the the newspaper design has transferred.

4) Repeat with each of your nails

5) Paint over with a coat of clear nail polish for a more finished look

Note: Some newspaper might stick to your nails when doing this. After your newpaper nails have dried you can wash that newspaper off with water.

Hey guys! So yesterday, I FINALLY received my brown belt in Shotokan Karate. I have been practicing for a good nine years. It's pretty exciting. I was such a shy kid when I was younger. I would be pushed around ALL the time. I never spoke much. So, my mom signed me up for karate thinking that it would help me. I wasn't so great at karate for a while, but somehow I broke out of my shell. I became stronger and I had a voice. I'm so happy to have taken it up. I'm still a quiet person, but I wouldn't be nearly as confident as I am now than how I was if I hadn't taken up karate. :-)

Well hey there!
I recently heard the old song "Come Clean" by Hilary Duff in some random place...
It really shocked me and gave me a big smile! Why? Because I'm insane.
No. Not really...
It's because I used to listen to her CD, "METAMORPHOSIS" when I was >>7<< YEARS OLD.
That's about eight years ago.
This was when I didn't use iTunes or have an iPod. Nope. I use to go to the Virgin CD store with my dad on the weekends and I would pick out a CD. My favorite was Metamorphosis. I would listen to EVERY TRACK. Who listens to every track on a CD nowadays? I certainly don't.
But anyway, this just made me remember the memories of being a youngster. I ended up buying the CD on iTunes yesterday. Truthfully, the songs kind of suck now. But they are still good from when I remember.

The Norm

I have missed my dear blog so much!! I just need to take a breather...
If you hadn't heard, two weeks ago, we had the great blizzard of 2011. I didn't have school for 2 1/2 days!
You may think that I was lucky to have 2 back-to-back snow days... but I hated it!
There was nowhere to go! The streets were icy and filled with snow. All stores were closed. The only thing you could do was sit home or play in the snow. I'm not the type to play in the snow (unless I'm skiing in the Rocky Mountains). So, I was home. Doing nothing. Then I realized, HEY! I can blog!! And then my two days got worse because WE HAD NO INTERNET CONNECTION!!
Anyway, last week, I had play practice until 8 o'clock every night! It. was. exhausting. But now, the play is over and I have more free time. Except for the fact that I'm in ANOTHER play. But that ends at 6 p.m. every night.

Waking Up in Vegas

Hello all! So I went to Vegas for my mom's birthday a week ago. I had forgotten to take good pictures so the ones posted are crummy and extremely random. Enjoy.

Isn't that such a dreamy picture? I took it while I was lying by the pool at the Trump Tower. That's where I stayed. It's very nice because it's a little quiet and there's no casino or any sort of gambling within the hotel. Why is that nice? Because you don't wake up hearing *DING DING DING BREENG BREEN DING CAH-CHEENG* Anyway, keep in mind that it's WINTER. The weather was so nice.

These shoes felt like they were 4 pounds.

You can gamble.... in the airport.

R.I.P. Coco

I'm sorry I haven't posted in the longest time. Gosh I have been busy! I thought once finals were over, my time would free up a bit. Wrong.
How were finals? Uhh... not bad. They didn't change my grades at all. And that's not a bad thing.

I've recently tried out for my high school's frosh/soph play which is "All In The Timing" by David Ives.
I got on the callback list and callbacks went really nicely. Sooo... cast list goes up tomorrow! I'm very excited. I'll let you all know if I got in or not. :-P

If any of you follow the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the reunion is TONIGHT. Buckle your seat belts...

Today, my dear cat, Coco died from kidney failure. She was 11 years old. I've had her since I was 4 years old. I came home from school to hear the news from my mom. It was heartbreaking. I bawled for an hour or two. I'm still shaky. If you have a cat, or even a dog, you would understand how painful it is to lose them. I consider my pets to be my family especially since I am the only child.
I never got to say my official goodbye.
Oh dear, I'm crying again.
*Breathes* I will miss you Coco. You will forever be in my heart. I will never forget you.

I was recently on StumbleUpon.com (great site, btw. Check it out) and I "stumbled upon" a site that just had 3 sentences:

At first I laughed. But then it made me think... I remembered when I was really young, how fun it was to just play with a couple of sticks in the grass outside. But now, electronics have taken over. Just imagine. How would it be, if for just 1 week, the world went without electronics? No cell phones, no computers, no television. In my opinion, it would be great!

Do you always seem to be on the internet? Texting nonstop? And is this your To-Do List?

Then try and see how it is for at least ONE day to go without electronics. Get a hobby. Go outside. Do something active! See how you feel!

Don't waste your time. I know sometimes I can get held up on my computer.

I'm already achieving my new year's resolution to only go on Facebook on weekends. I feel so much better to not go on everyday because I can finally study and get my work done faster.

Back in the day, radios were a way of electronic entertainment. If the people of the past found out that we "tweet" or "update" every little thing that we do on the world wide web, they would be confused, I would think.

Take control of your life and embrace it! Live it to the fullest!

Everyone can be stressed out at times in their life.

I know I am. More than ever!

My day:

Wake up early
School
Swimming during gym
Math (never good)
Karate (and/or piano)
Homework
Final Exam studying
Go to sleep late
Repeat

There may be some stress in your personal life. You may be stressed out over NOTHING! It happens.
It's ok. Everything will be fine. Know that. Because time will pass. The seconds are ticking. And once we are old, we realize that time has really flew.

Be thankful for what you have. Know that there will be bumps along the road. They could be small and they could be terrifyingly giant. But you can do it.
